Stephanie is a nationally recognized subject matter expert and sought after speaker on Military Families and Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Spouse Ambassador Network and is a founding affiliate partner of the Coalitionfor Veteran Owned Business with Fortune 100 companies including Disney, USAA, Walmart, Johnson & Johnson, Enterprise Holdings, American Express, Apple and Lockheed Martin.
A successful small business owner herself, Stephanie founded The Rosie Network in 2012 to Empower, Impact and Advocate on behalf of our nation’s veteran and military spouse small business owners and budding entrepreneurs. In 2016, The Rosie Network opened San Diego’s first shared office incubator, the Military Entrepreneur Development Center (MEDC), which houses Service2CEO, an individualized business development program for active-duty, veterans and military spouses looking to launch and grow a small business in San Diego. In 2016, MEDC was awarded the SBA’s national Growth Accelerator Award for Excellence.
The Rosie Network also hosts ROSIE’S LIST, a national search tool named after the WWII iconic figure, Rosie the Riveter. Rosie’s List is the nation’s largest searchable database of verified veteran and military spouse-owned companies with over 15,000 members across the country. This service is free and military members may use their Rosie Business Profile as a website complete with photo gallery, contact form and shopping cart.
In partnership with the San Diego Business Journal, The Rosie Network launched the first of its kind Veteran and Military Entrepreneur Awards, recognizing veteran and military spouse business owners and advocates for their outstanding contribution to our community.
The Rosie Network’s Military Entrepreneur Magazine (M.E.MAG), is a nonprofit publication by & for military entrepreneurs – sharing stories of veteran and military spouse-owned small businesses around the country. M.E.MAG was presented at The White House Champions for Change in 2016.
Stephanie has taught entrepreneurship and homebased business classes around the country. She is the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, spouse of retired Rear Admiral Thomas L. Brown II (SEAL) and mother of two boys. Stephanie has received numerous awards during her husband’s military career, including the Department of the Army Commanders Award for Civilian Service presented by Brigadier General Remo Butler, Commander, Special Operations Command SOUTH.
