Heartwarming Veterans Stories - Baby Colton, Son of Veteran Matt Brown

WARRIORS ROCK is honored to be helping out a wonderful Veteran and his family. Actually, this is not the first time Warriors Rock has been involved with this lovely couple. Matt and Hannah Brown was the winner of our Warriors Wedding Contest two years ago. (click here to read about the wedding)

Matt and Hannah have a beautiful 18 month old son named Colton who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which is linked to ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. SMA has left Colton immobile and reliant on a ventilator and requires round the clock home care by mom Hannah. Colton requires a lot of medical attention, hence the need to transport their son safely to their vehicle. The transportation of Colton is a real hardship for Matt and Hannah due to the pitch and uneven landscape of their yard combined with the medical equipment that must go with Colton.

Knowing a ramp would make a big difference for their son Matt and Hannah pulled back funds saving a little at a time for a ramp to be built. After finding a contractor who agreed to do the job and accepted payment the contractor turned up AWOL (as a Veteran would say). To this day he has not returned their money or finished the job.

When we here at Warriors Rock heard about this and we could not turn our back! Matt gave his time to our country so we can take the time to help him and his family!
